Quality controller

In Geldermalsen, Smeding operates from a new, state-of-the-art distribution centre. Smeding aims to inspire its customers and business relations and offer them that little bit extra. And we need your help to achieve this! We are looking for an enthusiastic individual for our food service department:

Quality controller (fulltime)

Together with your colleagues, you will ensure that the quality of our fruit and vegetables is always perfect.

This is what your working day will look like:

No day is the same at Smeding, but to give you an impression of a typical working day:

In the morning, you will start by randomly checking the potatoes, fruit and vegetables that have arrived at the distribution centre in Geldermalsen. You will check the stock and record the results. On your iPad, you enter information such as content, sorting, class, weight, defects and the rejection percentage. You share the completed inspection reports with the Purchasing department. You also analyse these reports to compare suppliers, products and seasons, for example.

During lunch, you will join your colleagues in our healthy canteen, where you will find a wide selection of fresh soups, delicious sandwiches and salads at affordable prices. The fresh fruit is, of course, completely free!

After that, you pick up where you left off. You also investigate incoming complaints and ensure their proper handling. Of course, you will keep your knowledge up to date by attending seminars. You will also complete the necessary training courses (P modules) as part of the Quality Inspector diploma.

This is the job for you if you:

• have an MBO level of working and thinking
• have an eye for detail and a flexible work attitude
• Are stress-resistant, ambitious and driven
• Can easily liaise with other departments
• And are simply very enthusiastic about a good quality product in the fruit and vegetable sector!

An inspector diploma or a professional diploma in fruit and vegetables is an advantage. Don't have one? No problem, we'll provide it for you!

We offer you:

• A salary ranging from €2,886,- to €3,400,- depending on your experience
• A 38-hour working week, with the intention of permanent employment
• 26 days holiday for full-time employment
• Travel allowance (for a commute of more than 10 km)

Working hours:

A five-day work week, with work on Saturdays once every two weeks. Working hours are between 06:00 and 19:00h.
